Regional Training Institute
Walking Together On a Path of ServiceThe Regional Training Institute of the Northeastern States is an educational center fostering the capacity to serve humanity among all age groups. The curriculum for this education program was developed through the Ruhi Institute and is used internationally.
It is offered primarily through a system of distance education within a small group setting and facilitated by trained tutors, junior youth animators, and children’s class teachers with the purpose of translating what is learned from the Bahá’í writings and local reality into sustained service for the spiritual and social transformation of neighborhoods.
The Universal House of Justice, which is the elected international council of the worldwide Bahá’í community, describes the small group study environment:
“The main sequence of courses is organized so as to set the individual, whether Bahá’í or not, on a path being defined by the accumulating experience of the community… The very notion of a path is, itself, indicative of the nature and purpose of the courses, for a path invites participation, it beckons to new horizons, it demands effort and movement, it accommodates different paces and strides, it is structured and defined… And crucially, one walks the path in the company of others.” – The Universal House of Justice, Dec. 12, 2011
